This facility was the unique renovation of an existing municipal facility into a new office space for the housing authority. An existing water spring located in the lower level of this facility was originally continuously pumped to the city storm water system.
The new mechanical system design utilized this incoming spring water as a geothermal energy source which now provides this new office building with very low heating and cooling energy costs. A new heat exchanger rejects or injects heat (as required) to a single pipe pumped loop water system that offers simultaneous heating and cooling capabilities. Remote located heat pumps provide individual zone control.
